I ordered these in the Fudge color, which is a light brown. I am between sizes 8 and 10 in Boden shorts/pants, and the size 8 fit perfectly. Being in my early 40s, I think the length of these shorts is just right. The cut and the cuffs give them a nice, tailored look. They are dressy enough that, with sandals and the right top, they could be worn for an evening out. I only wish I had noticed these sooner as I'd love to have them in white and navy as well!

i got these because of the color, and i've got the long chinos and was hoping these would fit kind of the same. the waistline on these shorts is super-flattering. it defines my fairly slim waist and though i'm pretty straight in the hips (not much of a butt), from the front the shorts make me look a bit curvier, something about the black button and tapered waist i guess. and the button pockets in back give me the illusion of having a nicer bum. but, i am not crazy about the HUGE amount of fabric under the butt and around the thighs! however, i can roll the shorts up (i don't mind my shorts as short as 5 or even 4 inch inseams. my legs are slim but not stick-thin.) even though i'm over 5'7" i got the 6R (i'm just under 130 lbs. with most of the weight up top) since i really didn't want super-long shorts. even considering the baggy look from the back, i loved the waistline and color, the back pockets and the fact that i could roll these so much that i'm keeping them. i've got plenty of super slim-fit shorts if i want another look. fabric is substantial, which is fine out here by the coast where it rarely gets too hot in summer.

I purchased these shorts for the summer. I carry weight in my hips and thighs, so I usually shy away from wearing shorts, but I ordered these because the reviews were mostly favorable. I'm so glad I did. They are the best shorts I've ever owned. They're not too tight in the thigh, the size is exact, and the fabric is soft. I love them!
