I snatched up this coat in buttercup in a size 4R after months of waiting for one to be in stock again.

I was worried seeing so many mixed reviews about the sizing, but it fits perfectly and the arms are just the right length.

The weight of the coat is about what I had expected, the material is very nice and doesn't have that icky typical raincoat feel at all. Might be a bit too warm during warmer rainy days though.

No real complaints,I only wish I could have ordered it sooner. Now to impatiently wait for a rainy day.

Wow. People weren't kidding about how huge the waist is on this. I'm not sure what kind of fit model was used for this garment - the only explanation is that it belongs in the maternity section.

I am a standard US 12 size L, 5'11" 170 lbs. I got this in a 12, and was surprised to find the shoulders fit fairly well and sleeves were *almost* long enough for me.

But the waist! I could pull one side of the lapel almost all of the way across my entire midsection -- meaning there's a good 8" or so of extra fabric! It is just HUGE. Honestly, the only way this would have fit properly is if I were 9 months pregnant.

I'm not sure why it's cut so generously. It's clearly meant to be a tailored, fitted trench, what with all of the seaming. I took the belt out to see if it would be possible to pull it off like a swing coat (it has an a-line cut like a swing coat -- narrow at the top and increasingly wider toward the bottom) but it just looked silly.

The fabric was heavier than I had expected. Would make a great winter coat in some climates. I was looking for a lighter fabric, so I ended up returning the coat. I have somewhat broad shoulders and the coat was a little snug in that area. Overall, it is a lovely coat, just not what I was looking for.

I bought this in a 4P -- it was too narrow through the shoulders, but fit through the bust. I thought about sizing up, but then decided to return because this trench is fairly loose through the waist, and there would be too much material (even belted) if I sized up. I also thought the navy color looked a little faded. That, plus the stitching, made it look too casual for work or dressing up.

I was hoping to wear this over a suit jacket. The size that was most flattering was far too small for that. The fabric was also a little too stiff. I wish it had worked out because the trench is beautiful to look at - nice details, and the lining is so fun!

Fabulous quality, beautifully made, but had to return it unfortunately. A bit too bulky, but main problem is that it is simply too wide in the middle section..too much bulk in the waist as a result. Needs to be more fitted.

I initially purchased the Rainy Day Mac, which I was super excited about because of the bright green print. However, I looked like a big box in it- it wasn't fitted enough and was generally too big in the waist and chest. I sent it back and ordered the Spring Trench because it was available in Petite sizes. It is adorable and I am actually looking forward to a rainy day! It is fitted and flattering in the waist and shoulders and I am super happy with my purchase. I ordered the navy blue circles and I'm in love! I wish it had a hood for the rain, but I have a rain hat to wear instead.

Over all, I like this trench. It is not the kind of coat that people around me wear. But there is one thing that I didn't expect about this coat. It is the lining. Mine is the one with navy polka dots, and the lining is bright red. It would be much nicer with darker color.

Looked great on screen, but I had to return it!The permanent problem with Boden is their sizing. With US bought clothes I am easy. 2/4 for bottoms, 4/6 for tops (I'm 5'9", 120 pounds). With Boden – his clothes fit all the models in the pictures beautifully, but hardly ever me, the buyer. So, I would not dare buy anything without consulting the reviews first – for fit. According to the reviews this coat runs large so I opted for size 4 [...] Not a good idea! Size 4 is as tight as a dress and is not very becoming, so I would not like a size up either. The cut does not do anything for me, and the coat it is very heavy – not the lightweight spring trench I was hoping for. The picture they have with the model's hands in her pockets (and the coat gathered in the back) does not give a great idea of what it looks like on a person!So – I had to return this coat [...]
